This unique course teaches the student, ages 9-adult, all about the history of Halloween. As he studies, the student learns about Ireland and the early Celts, their efforts to hold on to their traditions, and how this helped give us Halloween. The student learns the history of trick-or-treating, and of other Halloween traditions.

Then the student is given a thorough breakdown of how to write a scary story. Step by step, the student is guided through the process of creating two unique and original scary stories.

A suggested Halloween reading list for students ages 9-adult is included as well. Sixteen lessons investigate one of the most fun holidays while expanding the students ability to create and write well-constructed stories. The course uses history, geography, and vocabulary to enhance and bring out the students potential as a writer.
